Therapy includes a combination of lifestyle guidance, an understanding of the vocal mechanism and patient specific programme of voice therapy designed on an individual basis

Phonosurgery: this is surgery for specific types of voice disorders which are not amenable to Voice therapy techniques or where such approaches have not been helpful e.g vocal cord polyps, Reinkes oedema, vocal granulomas etc. In patients with vocal cord paralysis this may involve surgical techniques to augment the cord by way of injecting material into the tissues
