Finesse rhinoplasty is usually performed under local anaesthesia or twilight sedation. ENT surgeons generally use closed rhinoplasty techniques involving internal incisions, to minimise the visibility of scars. After the surgery, an external dressing may be placed over the nose, to stabilize it and reduce swelling. In rare cases, nasal packing and internal dressings may also be used.
It is important for patients to note that it usually takes a few months for the full effects of nose surgery to become visible. The exact time varies depending on the type of nose surgery performed and the recovery rate of the concerned individual.
